Line Marking Removal Perth
Painted and thermoplastic lines stripped from asphalt and concrete without scarring the surface underneath.
What comes off
Grinding leaves a scar that shows up as a ghost line every time the carpark is wet. Wet blasting lifts the paint or thermoplastic and leaves the aggregate intact, so a re-marked bay looks like a new bay.
We work for councils, strata managers, warehouses and civil contractors. Night and early-morning work is available where a site cannot be closed during trading hours.

In short
Yes — we remove painted and thermoplastic line marking from asphalt, concrete and sealed surfaces without scarring the pavement. No ghost lines, no black-out patches, and no melted asphalt. Carparks, roads, warehouse floors and airfield markings, with night works where access demands it.
Why not just paint over it
Black-out paint is the usual shortcut and it fails in two ways. In daylight the patch is obvious, and it gets more obvious as it weathers at a different rate to the surrounding pavement. At night, under headlights, the old line often reads straight through the black-out because the surface texture underneath is still the shape of the line. On a road or a trafficked carpark that is a safety problem, not just a cosmetic one.
Blasting removes the marking material itself, so there is nothing left to read through.
Asphalt, concrete and thermoplastic
Paint on asphalt. The most common job and the most delicate. Asphalt is bitumen-bound and both heat and over-aggressive abrasive will damage it — grinding leaves a scar that is as visible as the line was. Controlled low-pressure wet blasting lifts the paint and leaves the aggregate.
Thermoplastic. Thick, tough and heat-applied. It takes longer and costs more than paint, and on a hot day it behaves differently again. Worth telling us which you have when you ask for a price, because the difference is significant.
Concrete. More forgiving. Warehouse floors, loading docks and multi-storey carparks all take a firmer setting.
Access, traffic and hours
Most of this work happens when the site is empty — nights for retail and hospitality carparks, weekends for offices, shutdown windows for industrial sites. The rig is self-contained, so we do not need your power or water, and the wet process means we are not throwing a dust plume across a live site. Traffic management is arranged separately unless it is included in the quote.
Coatings and passes
| Coating | Typically | Passes |
|---|---|---|
| Cold applied paint | Acrylic line paint | 1 |
| Thermoplastic | Hot-applied lines and arrows | 1–2 |
| Epoxy floor marking | Warehouse aisle marking | 1 |
| Bitumen overspray | Sealer, tack coat | 1 |
Pass counts are for planning. Tim confirms on a site look, which is free inside the Perth metro area.
How the job runs
| Stage | What happens | Typical hrs |
|---|---|---|
| Site look | Access, water, waste and containment checked | 0.5 |
| Mask and set up | Glass, fittings and adjacent surfaces protected | 1 |
| Blast | Wet media at 6–9 bar, passes to spec | 4–8 |
| Wash and inspect | Rinse, flash-rust inhibitor, handover photos | 1 |
Bare steel wants a coat within 4–6 hours in Perth humidity. We can hold the job with an inhibitor if your painter is booked for the next morning.

Common questions
Line marking removal — your questions answered
Will removal leave ghost lines?
No. Wet blasting lifts the coating instead of cutting the surface, so there is no grind scar and no shadow when the carpark is wet. On aged asphalt there may be a slight colour difference where the paint protected the surface from UV.
Can you work overnight?
Yes. Carparks, service stations and warehouses are usually done outside trading hours. We can stage the work bay by bay so part of the site stays open throughout.
Do you re-mark the lines?
We remove; we do not paint. Most clients have a line marker follow us the same week, and we are happy to coordinate timing so the surface is prepped exactly when they arrive.
