What we blast around Mandurah
Mandurah is built around water, and almost everything we strip here has been sitting in salt air for years.
Jetties and canal frontage. The canal estates through Halls Head, Wannanup and Port Mandurah have kilometres of private jetty, decking and balustrade, most of it hardwood that has gone grey and furry under a failed oil or decking stain. Wet blasting at low pressure lifts the coating and the weathered surface layer without tearing out the soft grain between the growth rings, which is what a rotary sander or a pressure washer will do. Boats. The Ocean Marina, the Dawesville Cut ramps and the crabbing fleet keep a steady flow of anti-foul removal coming. Trailer boats we can do at your place; anything on the hard we do in the yard. See marine blasting.
Limestone and brick. Mandurah has a lot of painted limestone — boundary walls, retaining, feature walls on the older beach houses. Limestone is soft and it will not survive an aggressive abrasive, so this is a very low pressure job with a fine media and a test patch first, every time.
Salt-affected steel. Gates, fencing, balustrade, trailers and pool surrounds within a couple of kilometres of the water corrode faster than anywhere inland. Chloride contamination is the reason coatings fail early here, and wet blasting flushes salts as it works rather than driving them into the profile.

Working on the water in Mandurah
- Canal jetties need containment. Spent media must not go into the waterway. On canal-front work we sheet and collect underneath as standard, and that is in the quote.
- Timber gets a test patch. Jarrah, merbau and treated pine all behave differently under the nozzle. We prove the settings on a small area you choose before committing to the deck.
- Holiday homes. A good deal of Mandurah work is done for owners who live in Perth. You do not need to be there — we take photos before, during and after, and quote from photos you send.
- Coat the timber promptly. Freshly stripped hardwood should be oiled or sealed within a few days, before it starts weathering again. If your painter is booked, tell us and we will sequence around them.

Working in Mandurah
Do you charge travel to Mandurah?
No. Mandurah, Halls Head, Dawesville, Falcon, Erskine, Pinjarra and the surrounding Peel suburbs are inside our standard rate. Only jobs well beyond the region, such as Bunbury or the Goldfields, carry a travel component.
Can you strip a canal jetty without media going in the water?
Yes. Canal-front and over-water work is sheeted and collected underneath so spent media is captured rather than dropping into the waterway. That containment is included in the quote, not added later.
Will blasting damage my hardwood decking?
Not at the right pressure. Timber is done at very low pressure with a fine abrasive, which lifts the coating and the grey weathered layer while leaving the grain intact. We always test-patch an area you nominate before starting the main deck.
Can you blast painted limestone walls?
Yes, carefully. Limestone is soft and an aggressive abrasive will erode the face permanently, so it is done at the lowest workable pressure with a fine media, and always after a test patch. It is one of the substrates where wet blasting clearly beats the alternatives.
Do I need to be home if I live in Perth?
No. A lot of our Mandurah work is for owners who live elsewhere. Provided we have access and a phone number, we can run the job and send photographs before, during and after. We can also quote from photos you send us.
Do you do anti-foul removal in Mandurah?
Yes, both at the Ocean Marina hardstand and at your property for trailer boats. Spent anti-foul is contained and disposed of through a licensed facility because of the biocides it contains.
