Privacy policy

We are a blasting company, not a data business. We collect what we need to quote your job and do the work, and nothing else.

The short version

We collect your name, contact details and job information so we can quote and carry out blasting work. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@dustlessblastingservices.com.au.

Who we are

Dustless Blasting Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile abrasive blasting business operating across Perth and Western Australia. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we handle and why.

What we collect

We only collect information that helps us quote or complete a job:

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, email address, and the address or suburb where the work is to be done.
  • Job information — what you want blasted, photographs you send us, access notes, site conditions and any coating specification you provide.
  • Correspondence — emails, text messages and quote requests you send us, plus our replies.
  • Payment and billing details — for invoicing. We do not store card numbers; payments are processed by our bank or accounting provider.
  • Basic website analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device type and referring site, in aggregate. This tells us which pages are useful. It does not identify you personally.

We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act. If you send us something we did not ask for and do not need, we delete it.

How we collect it

Almost always directly from you — through the quote form on this site, by phone, by email or in person on site. If a builder, insurer, strata manager or project manager engages us on your behalf, we may receive your contact details from them so we can arrange access.

Why we use it

  • To prepare a quote and answer your questions.
  • To schedule, carry out and invoice the work.
  • To keep a record of the job — including before and after photographs — for warranty, insurance and dispute purposes.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including work health and safety and environmental record keeping.
  • Occasionally, to follow up on a quote you did not proceed with. Tell us to stop and we will.

Job photographs

We photograph most jobs. Those photos are primarily a work record. We also use some of them on this website and on social media to show the standard of our work — see the photo gallery.

Job photos are framed on the work, not on people or identifying detail. We do not publish street numbers, vehicle registration plates, business signage or anything that identifies a site without permission. If a photo of your property is on this site and you would rather it was not, email us and we will take it down — no explanation needed.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose it only where necessary:

  • Service providers — our email host, accounting software and website host, who process information on our behalf under their own privacy obligations.
  • Subcontractors — where a job needs a specialist coating applicator, crane or scaffold, we pass on the site address and contact details required to do the work.
  • Insurers and legal advisers — if there is a claim or a dispute.
  • Where the law requires it — for example a regulator or a court order.

Some of our providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses a small number of cookies for basic analytics — which pages people read, and roughly where they are. We do not run advertising pixels or cross-site tracking. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site works fine without them.

How we keep it safe

Information is held in password-protected email and accounting systems with two-factor authentication enabled. Paper records — job sheets, signed variations — are kept in the office and destroyed when no longer needed. We keep records for seven years to meet tax and insurance requirements, then delete them.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@dustlessblastingservices.com.au or call Tim on 0458 531 878. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

We may need to keep some records even after a deletion request — invoices, for instance, where tax law requires it. We will tell you if that applies.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first — most things are fixable in a phone call. Email us with the details and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for a month.
